Each Divino Art river table begins as a solid suar wood trunk, sourced from mature trees in Indonesia and cut into live-edge slabs that preserve the wood's natural curves, voids and grain. The slabs are air- and kiln-dried before being hand-selected, bookmatched and finished with clear epoxy resin, which fills the trunk's natural gaps to create the signature “river” running through each piece. Every table is sanded, oiled and finished by hand at our workshop, so no two pieces are ever quite alike.
These river tables are now being made available to customers across Europe through Hotelware Group's distribution network, with custom sizing and finishing available for hospitality, retail and residential projects.
Suar wood comes from Samanea saman, widely known as the rain tree or monkey pod tree — a fast-growing species with a broad, symmetrical umbrella-shaped canopy, cultivated across Indonesia. Its crisscrossed, interlocking grain makes the timber naturally resistant to cracking and warping, while its colour ranges from light honey tones at the sapwood to deep chocolate-brown at the heartwood, giving every slab its own distinct character.
By working with reclaimed and responsibly sourced suar timber, Divino Art gives new life to wood that would otherwise go to waste, turning it into one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.
